In mid-June 2022 Dollar Academy announced a major development in relation to their Futures
Institute Dollar Academy (FIDA) which has been operating as a virtual facility since mid 2020.

This initiative seeks to provide innovative educational resources for young people across
Scotland. It has already succeeded in enrolling and educating very many children and teachers
from state schools across the country. The latest development includes expanding the scale
of FIDA with the construction of a highly sustainable building in the grounds of the Academy.
The initial plans are available for all to see.
The Trust had a preview of the development shortly before it became public. Since then, the
Trustees have been considering what this means for the community and for the Trust. We
have, as always, shared our views openly with Dollar Community Council, with whom we have
a formal and successful partnership.
