A Community Owned Sports Park – from Vision to Reality
After many years and much effort by Dollar Glen Football Club, a partnership approach with Dollar Community Development Trust and Clackmannanshire Council is now moving forward towards a community owned outdoor sports and recreation facility for Dollar – the Devon Way Sports Park.
Our vision is to develop the Sports Park for use by everyone in the community, offering accredited sports activities and outdoor recreation opportunities.
Here are our plans and progress so far. Now we need YOU to get involved, share your ideas, and offer your support to turn this Vision into Reality!

The Sports Park project has the vision of transforming the community’s sport and activity facilities to improve the lives of all who live or visit Dollar.
Over the last four months every household received information about the concepts and vision underpinning the case for substantial grants to fund new community owned facilities.
Between late January and 16th March everyone who lived or visited Dollar was encouraged to complete a survey
The headline results of 416 returns confirmed impressive backing for the vision (97%) and community ownership (95%). The remarkable quantity and quality of ideas and suggestions were even more impressive. These responses have enabled detail to be added to the broad concept. Involved from the beginning of the campaign was City Architects Office which used the survey responses to produce a valuable report that points the way. The Feedback Event 5/6th March that delivered the early results was covered in the local newspaper: You can view the article by clicking here
The results of the survey were a boost to the Action Group gathering evidence of community involvement during the early design stages of the project. This proof is a requirement for the next stages of the project leading up to funding applications.
Part of the process was to use ideas in revising build designs for the Facilities Hub. The City Architects Office report is a key step and is available with other downloads linked to this page. Other priorities for equipment and services are also shown.
