We were asked by Harviestoun Estate to let the community know about some work they are doing with TownRock Energy and the Universities of Glasgow and Strathclyde to evaluate the renewable heating potential of the flooded coal mines underneath their Farm’s land to the east of Dollar. The plan is for this new research project to start in October 2020 with the aim of accessing and collecting data from the coal mine workings beneath the site, to inform a wider research project around the mine water geothermal resource potential.
The research team held a community webinar where they presented the project outline, drilling plan, and invited questions from the audience.
This webinar was held on 22nd September 2020, at 6.30pm – 7.30pm. Further details can be found here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/dollar-drilling-and-research-information-event-tickets-120225109539
