We are pleased to announce that we will be doing some further work to eradicate Himalayan Balsam along the banks of the Devon in July 2021.
IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO TAKE PART – PLEASE MEET AT THE HIVE (THE OUTDOOR GARDEN ON THE WEST SIDE) AT 9.30am ON SATURDAY 10TH JULY. If you cannot attend this briefing, don’t worry, just download the information below.
To give you a bit of context as to why we are doing it, below you will find a guide produced by the non-native species secretariat. It explains in detail both the history and the problems that are caused by this plant.
The video clip below is also quite good in illustrating how easily the plant can be dealt with.
Can you help?
We will be doing some organised eradication activity on the weekends of: 10/11th July and again on 24th/25th July. Last year we had a great weekend with lots of people helping out – but there is still a lot to do!
If you would like to help out please come along to the Hive on Saturday morning at 9.30am.
Huge thanks to David Louden for initiating this activity.
